Summary on how to receive intercom calls from a DC-I6212WRX

There is only 3 ways to receive a real time call from a DC-I6212WRX.

 

1. IDIS Center or ISS Client Intercom Pop up(IDIS VMS)

2. Mobile PUSH Notification (Requires NVR or ISS Server and IDIS Mobile Plus) - Cannot be done with just camera by itself.

3. VOIP with SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)

 

IDIS Center - VMS Call

With IDIS Center, VMS Intercom Pops will automatically generate when the intercom button is pushed.

If the intercom is registered to an NVR it must be the latest series (2500/6500/8500) with firmware 8.7.0 or higher.

You can also register then intercom camera to IDIS Center with no NVR and receive intercom calls to PC via Intercom Live Pop up.

You can also check the following setting in IDIS Center Setup. Just be aware that you will to have IDIS Center running in order to receive the intercom pop ups. Make sure the latest IDIS Center is Installed. Intercom Support was added in IDIS Center 6.0

 

 

ISS Client - VMS Call

Once the Intercom registered to ISS Server and the ISS Client is configured to the ISS Server.

ISS Intercom Calls will need to be configured in ISS Setup, under Event Management.

Below I have setup up Event Condition for Intercom. You only need to at minimum enable:

 - Intercom Call Requested -> Live Popup -> Specify End User or Group

The other types of events are optional, if the client wants to receive other types of intercom call events.

The ISS Client need to run the background in order the receive the VMS Intercom Pop ups. If ISS client is not running or user has not been configured to receive Intercom calls. The end user may not get calls at all unless they have the intercom camera displaying in the Live Tab.

 

Please check the following setting is enabled in ISS Client under SYSTEM -> Preference

 

PUSH Notification

Intercom calls are available via Push Notification. The Intercom must be registered to our recent NVR models (2500/3500/6500/8500) and have the latest firmware.

Once the Intercom is registered to an IDIS NVR. You must configure remote access to the NVR (separate instructions) and add the device to IDIS Mobile Plus. Make sure Push Notification is enabled in the mobile device for IDIS Mobile Plus.

You must enable Push notification in the NVR.

Click on Action column, click on Notify and enable Push and press okay. Make sure to apply changes.

 

SIP -

Intercom has the ability to send an Intercom Call to VOIP SIP Server.

The following setting will have to be configured in the camera itself.

- SIP Enabled

- Server Address

- Server Port

- Authentication (ID and Password)

- Recipient ID

 

The recipient's phone will need to be configured to receive calls from VOIP SIP Server.

Optional -

DTMF - Dual Tone Multi Frequency

If the VOIP SIP Server supports DTMF, then the end user's phone can be used to open the door.

The sequence box will need to be configured to the specific dial number sequence that will trigger the door open relay in the intercom.

Customer will need to wire the intercom to door unlock mechanism. Please see Intercom Installation Manual in Download section (topic begins in page 15).
