Port Forwarding requirements for IDIS and Costar systems

Issue:

The system needs to be accessed remotely via FEN or the public IP address.

Solution:

Port forwarding must be enabled on the customer router by local IT.

1. For DR and XDI series recorders only, disable the local firewall (System > Network > Firewall).
2. Obtain the local IP address of the NVR (System > Network > WAN). 
3. The ports that need to be open will depend on the model of the recorder.
   • For Costar E, ET, SP, XDH or IDIS TR series you need to open the following Ports: 8016, 10019, 8200 and 12088 (12088 only if using Internet Explorer) If there are more than one unit at the site then the port numbers for the second one and thereafter need to be unique. 
   • For Costar XDI or IDIS DR series you will need to open the following Ports:  8016 and 12088 (12088 only if using Internet Explorer).
   • Central Point recorder requires ports: 9350 and 80
   • INEX recorders require ports: 11001-11004.  There is no web port/service for INEX.
4. Go to https://portchecker.co/ and verify the ports are open. If the ports above show closed like in the example below, local IT must address it.
