Answer

The NR9581, NR9681, NR9682, NR9782, NR9581-V2, NR9681-V2, NR9682-V2, NR9782-V2, NR9581-V3 and NR9682-V3 models support connecting both SATA and SAS HDDs/disks as their hard disk interface is SAS 3.0. Please note that you CANNOT mix SAS and SATA drives within the same RAID configuration. For more detailed information, please see the following images:

All NVR models are equipped with the SFF-8482 connectors interface. This interface complies with the SAS 3.0 specification and supports a maximum data transfer rate of 12 Gbps.

For verification, we used the hard drive model HUS728T8TAL5204 as the test drive to confirm whether each NVR can properly detect hard drives through the SAS 3.0 interface. The results confirmed that the NVRs successfully recognized the test drive via the SAS 3.0 interface.

Hard disk connectors for SATA and SAS HDDs.

SAS 4.0 hard drives require the SFF-8639 (U.2) connector interface for support. Since none of the NVR models listed above are designed to support this interface, SAS 4.0 disks are not supported.
