Description: Protocol for creating and connecting installations to the TBB NOVA cloud

INTRODUCTION

Connecting installations with TBB equipment to the free cloud (TBB NOVA) is an optional but highly recommended step. In addition to the ability to monitor any installation in real time (with the possibility to view faults, alarms, perform updates, etc.), connecting to TBB NOVA grants an extra 1-year warranty on the installed equipment.

This creation and connection of installations can be done in 3 different ways:

  • Via TBB Rio SUN II series inverters, with the Kinergy WiFi device included in the box, for a wireless connection.
  • Via TBB-E4-MONITOR monitor, an additional accessory, for a wireless connection.
  • Via TBB-ETHERLINKER, an additional accessory, for an ethernet connection.

CREATING AN ACCOUNT IN TBB NOVA.

The first step is to create a user account in the TBB Nova app. It is available on iOS, Android, and as a web portal option. This way, an installer can view all their installations from one place. To do this, first download the App:

Afterwards, you need to register (mandatory: username, mobile phone, country, city, password and email account), obtain the verification code (click GET) that is sent to the previously provided email account, enter that code, accept the terms and conditions, and click REGISTER.

Important

Leave the DEALER field blank, it may cause registration failure.

If you do not receive the verification code, check the spam folder of your email account.

MODE 1: CREATING INSTALLATIONS AND CONNECTING TO THE CLOUD VIA KINERGY WIFI DEVICE.

As mentioned earlier, the first way to create and monitor installations is by using the Kinergy WiFi device (image below) that comes inside the TBB RIO SUN II inverter box. It is highly recommended to read the user manual for both devices.

The physical connection of the Kinergy WiFi module is made using an RJ45 cable, also available in the inverter box. The RJ45 cable connects between the ComMON port of the TBB RIO SUN II inverter and the RJ45 port of the Kinergy WiFi, as shown in the following image.

To create the installation in the TBB Nova App, open the App and enter your account credentials (username and password) and click LOGIN. Once inside the App, the installation is created by clicking on the "+" icon that appears on the interface.

Next, the following menu appears where you need to enter the Kinergy WiFi data: Serial number (can be entered manually or by scanning the QR code), installation name, and location (which is automatically displayed in the icon circled in red). Click CONFIRM and in this way, an installation has now been created in TBB Nova.

Once the installation is created, you need to connect it to the cloud. To do this, exit the App and return to the main menu. There, there are 2 ways: either click directly on Wi-Fi Config or go to LOCAL and then Quick Setup. In both cases, you reach the same menu.

The next step is to connect it locally via BLE. In the following menu, click Next Step (making sure the Kinergy WiFi is not always red), look for an address as follows: WCM:[Kinergy WiFi serial number] and click on it.

After it has been successfully paired, click WLAN and choose the corresponding network with its password. Click CONFIG and once it has been successfully configured, click OK and it will automatically return to the start interface, indicating that the connection has been successful.

MODE 2: CREATING INSTALLATIONS AND CONNECTING TO THE CLOUD VIA TBB-E4-MONITOR.

The second way to create and monitor installations is by using the E4 Monitor device (image below), which is an additional device.

The physical connection of the E4 Monitor is made using an RJ45 cable, also available in the inverter box. The RJ45 cable connects between the ComMON port of the TBB RIO SUN II inverter and the RJ45 (3) port of the E4 Monitor as shown in the following image.

To create the installation in the TBB Nova App, open the App and enter your account credentials (username and password) and click LOGIN. Once inside the App, the installation is created by clicking on the "+" icon that appears on the interface.

Next, the following menu appears where you need to enter the E4 Monitor data: Serial number (can be entered manually or by scanning the QR code), installation name, and location (which is automatically displayed in the icon circled in red). Click CONFIRM and in this way, an installation has now been created in TBB Nova.

Once the installation is created, you need to connect it to the cloud. To do this, you must do it manually with the monitor screen. You need to click the icon circled in red (SYSTEM) and within that icon select GENERAL SETTINGS.

Within GENERAL SETTINGS, click WIRELESS COMM. and then enter the network and its password. Click CONFIG and the device is now connected to the cloud.

MODE 3: CREATING INSTALLATIONS AND CONNECTING TO THE CLOUD VIA TBB-ETHERLINKER.

The third way to create and monitor installations is by using the Etherlinker device (image below), which is an additional device.

The physical connection of the Etherlinker is made using an RJ45 cable, also available in the inverter box. The RJ45 cable connects between the ComMON port of the TBB RIO SUN II inverter and the COM port of the Etherlinker as shown in the following image. From the WAN port of the Etherlinker, an RJ45 cable goes to the router to which it will be connected.

By default, the device is configured with a DHCP address. It is not recommended to enable a fixed IP address unless necessary. For a fixed IP address, follow these steps:

First, press the RESET button on the Etherlinker for 5 seconds to restore factory settings.

Next, with a web browser, go to the IP address 192.168.0.212, enter the admin password and click SIGN IN (both the PC and the Etherlinker must be connected to the same network). Then, modify the LAN parameters to set the desired IP address and click SAVE.

Finally, click Change Password, change the password, and click Confirm.
