How to reset the password of a SwannView recorder?

Applies to the following 2011-2018 products

DVR-1200 | DVR-41300, DVR-1350 | DVR-1400 | DVR-2550 | DVR-2600 | WMT-HOMEDVR4, WMT-SECUBOX4
(also DVR-04b | DVR-08b) | DVR8-4X50

Things to have

•  A monitor connected to the DVR.
• A mouse connected to the DVR.

Troubleshooting

1. Try the default – Whether they did or did not, let them try ‘admin’ as the username and ‘123456’ for the password 
     - If it worked, then proceed on setting up a new password. 
     - If not, then proceed to the next step

2. Use Master codes

   DeviceID. To put the correct numbers, type the numbers from the parenthesis. This area, by default, is 000000 (6 zero's).
                         
     As for the USER and PASSWORD, try any combination below:

   Username	Password
   admin	479266
   admin	519070
   root	479266
   root	519070
   root	664225 (for 2013 firmware)

   Once you’re logged in, proceed to Setting up a new password.

   Warning: For your security, it is not recommended to use the username and password to login to the recorder from computer software. You must set up a new password.

Setting up a new password

1. Go to MENU then click SYSTEM
   
    
2. Click USER and this is where you’ll set a password
   
    
3. Click the box on the SEL column to choose the username then click EDIT below (not shown on the image)
   
4. Change now the password below
   
5. Type your preferred password as a 6-digit combination on both the Password and Confirm fields.
6. Once done, click on Apply to save the settings
