Video loss during night, missing PIR option, and infrared LEDs are dim or off - these are some issues you may encounter by having insufficient power supplied to the cameras.
If you are using a longer cable while still using the adapter that came with the kit, the system will supply less power when it reaches the end of the cable. This is due to increased resistance from using a longer cable (or multiple cables joined together).
In this article, we have listed the suggested output rating for lengths of cable that we have to make it easier for you to isolate an issue. The suggestions are not exact, as variables such as time of day (increased power consumption at night), exact construction of the cable, type of camera in use (white light cameras use more power), etc. all play a part.
Output rating is the measurement of voltage and current that is supplied by the adapter which will be used by the cameras. You can get this rating on the label attached to the adapter. An adapter with an output current of 2.0A (2000mA) is usually used with 4 cameras, but you may need to reduce the number of cameras on an adapter and purchase additional adapters and/or splitters.

NOTE: If you are using the 4-way power splitter that came with the kit and one or more cameras is/are required to use a different adapter, then that camera must be separated from the rest (e.g. 3x cameras with 30m/100ft and 1x camera with 60m/200ft, the last camera must be separate as the other 3x uses the same adapter)
